I was lucky enough to have a co-worker who also is a photographer! So this past Saturday evening we went downtown Boise and had some family pictures taken. Pierce did ok. It was colder outside that night and I don't think he liked that. Plus there was just a lot going on and he was SO tired! You will be able to tell by some of the pictures. He also looks SO old in some of these, but he was only 1 month old!
{These are screen shots, so of course the actual pictures are cropped better}

Newborn Pictures
We were lucky to have a high school friend of mine take amazing newborn pictures of Pierce. He was 17 days new at the time. We sure discovered how much harder it is with a 17 day baby vs a younger one. Pierce wanted us to just leave him alone so he could sleep while a 6-8 day old baby would have slept right through it!!! Either way, she did a fantastic job. Thank you Kristin Labrum Photography!!

Nursery
Pierce's Nursery is now complete!!!
The homemade mobile up close... I still LOVE it!
And a close up of the homemade crib sheets and skirt by my Mom.
My mind was set on owl print when we were looking at decorating the nursery. Three stores later we found it! And found a fantastic one!! I couldn't be any happier with our choice. And then the orange and blue colors with it are even better! I am so glad my Mom is good at sewing!
Here is a better picture of the entire nursery.
And our owls all around the room... LOVE THEM!!! I just hope Pierce does and they don't scare him!!
The room is perfect! I couldn't be any happier with how it turned out. Now it is time to get Pierce home and introduce him to his new room.... come on Pierce, come introduce yourself to us!!!

Tree for Nursery
I know yesterday was only my first official day of maternity leave... and already I was bored!! So I decided to paint! I wanted to add something to this corner of Pierce's nursery and yesterday was the day I decided what to do. I wanted to put a tree! It only seemed fitting with the owls in his nursery.
So here is the blank space.
End of day 1 left me with the outline of the tree... kinda boring...
Much better!!! It is complete! Well except for the blue owl... It will be replaced by a black one.
I love it!!!!
A closer view...
Now what project to start tomorrow....
COME ON PIERCE...
MAKE YOUR PRESENCE CAUSE MOM IS GETTING BORED ALREADY!!! :)

Maternity Leave has Started!
Since we are past our due date, my work calendar is clear! This means it is time for my maternity leave to start. There is no reason for me to reload my calendar at this point and start new projects... plus, I AM EXHAUSTED!
Now the test is to see what I will fill my final days with before I become a Mom!! Luckily Scottie is home too so we will get some time together before our lives completely change....

OB Appt
And I thought this OB Appt wouldn't come... but boy was I wrong! Week 41 appointment was today. Pierce's heartbeat was amazing again right around 140. We, unfortunately, have had NO PROGRESS. We are still dilated 2 centimeters and only 50% effaced. After speaking with our OBGYN with our options, we have decided that we are ready to move forward! So... we are going to be induced, should Pierce not come on his own in the next few days. Instead of putting our names on a 'waiting list' to be induced this week, we decided to wait until we would be a medically needed induction, which would take effect this Saturday. Medically needed inductions are when you are 1 week past your due date. Our OBGYN is actually on call this Sunday so he decided that Sunday is a great day! I am impressed we don't have to wait until a week day, but that he will take us on a weekend. I think this is great!!! So.... should Pierce not come before then... August 14th is the date!
We also had a fetal non-stress test done to make sure that Pierce is doing well. There were no concerns but because we were overdue, our OBGYN wanted it done to see how our little guy is doing during his extended stay. This involved attaching one belt across my stomach to measure Pierce's fetal heart rate and another belt to measure my contractions. The movement, heart rate and reaction of Pierce's heart rate to movement was measured for 20 minutes. In the beginning Pierce was snoozing but about 9 minutes in, when a contraction came (that I didn't feel) he woke up. Every time he moved, his heartbeat increased; therefore he passed with flying colors!

Crib
Pierce's crib is complete!! Next is to complete the nursery.
We sanded and painted the family crib. Our nephew just turned 2 and was ready for a big kid bed, giving us the crib that my brother, sister and myself grew up in. I didn't have any before pictures, of course, but here is one with Scottie sanding away! You can see what color it was.

After 1 layer of paint and the homemade bedding made by my mom, the crib is ready for Pierce!
Stay tuned for nursery pictures!! I have a few more decor items in mind....

40 weeks {What I Know Now}
- Anticipation to the due date is here... now what? I have a feeling we will see another week go by.
- I can now say I am officially exhausted. You know that feeling you have after maxing out lifting weights and your arms and legs feel like jello and there is NO way you could lift another pound? I am there!!!
- Every store Scottie and I go in to, someone asks when we are due. Should we play the "due for what" card? Or is that just plain cruel??
- My hips are getting sore....
- Walking every day does NOT induce labor!
- Eating spicy foods does NOT induce labor!
- Eating pineapple does NOT induce labor!
- I am going to miss my "ledge" to hold items on, but our pups will miss it even more! The boys find me more comfortable to lay on that Scottie.
- I stare at myself in the mirror every morning, afternoon and evening to see if he has dropped... no such luck.
- I still cannot stop nesting!!!!!
- Still no dreams of Pierce, but 5 of my co-workers have had dreams of him!!! At least someone knows what this kid is going to look like!
