Day 67
Very, very, very spur of the moment... but somehow we started this morning just the two of us and ended with four of us!
Meet Ben & Jerry {Jerry is on the left and Ben is on the right}, As you can tell, these brother shih tzu's are a little timid. I don't blame them.. but soon they will be comfortable. They came from AMAZING owner's out of Paul, ID. These owners have raised many shih tzu's over the years and actually have Mom and Dad of these brothers as their own. Mom is 11 lbs and Dad is 10 lbs. These are true pure bred puppies.
Night one, here we come... let's see how little sleep my husband and I get.

Day 66
We received a box of family heirlooms today... wow... what history these books have. We spent hours looking through them. They have been in the humid state of Florida since about 1935. We are lucky to be able to take care of them.

4 yards of rock.... 2 days later... I LOVE IT! Thank you Mom for ALL of your help!
Here are some pictures of our new yard!
Some of the new pots and our stove set up in the new space:
There was even enough rock left over that I went ahead and put it in our front yard!!!

Backyard Makeover
What a day!!! Today was the big yard makeover day! I couldn't sleep last night {anxious} and woke up early {6am}. It's too bad they didn't open until 8am. But don't worry, I parked at the "gates" of the nursery just waiting for them to open the doors. Once I was in, I discovered that the rock we chose was OUT OF STOCK!!! Not what I wanted to hear. So after driving around town for about 4 hours, I called again... IT CAME IN! So instead of getting started early today we didn't get going until about 3pm. When I say we, I mean my mom and I. She was a HUGE help! Unfortunately, because of the late start, that meant a late finish, which then means no finished pictures. So instead you get to see a few of the process.

Day 63
Not only did we get free dirt from a random person off of craigslist, but he also gave us some hens and chicks. Right now they are in pots.... who knows where they will end up....

Day 62
After work today, I started covering the edges with the weed barrier.... I didn't get too far, but plan on finishing it tomorrow.

Day 61
After researching the price of dirt, we decided that instead of driving to downtown Boise and loading dirt from someone's house, we could go purchase dirt for WAY cheap and have it loaded for us. If only we knew this earlier! But that's ok, as we actually helped out a stranger to make his yard what he wanted... and the workout was worth it as well. Now we are ready to lay the weed barrier!!!

Fill Dirt!
Thank you craigslist. Today my husband and I were able to get some free dirt to clear away the puddles in our backyard. Three hours later, after unloading ALL OF THIS DIRT, we realized, we still need more. But we are off to a great start. Thank you dad for letting us borrow your truck as well.

Day 52
Each night, my husband and I struggle with the famous 'what's for dinner' saga. Lately the both of us have been working long days so neither of us wants to make the decision come dinner time. I came across this company called e-mealz. They send you a weekly meal plan that comes with a shopping list. It seemed like a great idea as it only cost us $12.50 for 4 months! We figured it was worth a shot. Tonight was Day 1. Recipe was Apple Sage Pork Roast. Conclusion was a success. I would have NEVER put this meal together, but will definitely make it again!! This is a picture of the bacon and apples that we put on top of our pork roast. It was SO good!! So far, we are happy with e-mealz.

Day 48
Tonight was the first time I have ever mowed the grass in our very own front yard! I had all intentions to take a great shot of this, but then this story came along.... and it was too priceless to pass up.
While mowing the small front yard we have, I came across 4 large land-mines. Now, we don't have a dog, but our next door neighbor has 3 large dogs and 2-3 puppies. Another one of these puppies now lives across the street from us. Knowing who the culprit was isn't the point. I just am in disbelief that when your dog goes in someone else's yard, you just leave it..... So after mowing I get out our shovel and do some clean up. The second I put the shovel away start to go inside our house I see the puppy from across the street leap over into our yard in her cute puppy way.... and starts sniffing.... I knew what was next. To make it even better, the dad is out mowing his yard while the kids {probably ages 4, 6 and 7} are riding their bikes around the cul-de-sac. {Side note: dad likes to mow his tiny front yard with a riding lawn mower... this makes for an even better story} This cute puppy finds her spot and starts leaving us a new fresh even larger land-mine. Now the kids come over and watch her. Then I hear the kids telling each other how cute she is and how funny it is to watch her. All while dad is still just mowing the yard. I am standing there, waiting for her to finish because I know dad is not going to clean this up. Finally dad sees me noticing this is happening so what does he do? He rides his riding lawn mower across the street while yelling at the kids to yell at the dog to make her stop. So the kids are yelling at the dog to stop and dad is yelling at the kids... oh happy day. I figure this was enough for me so I go inside. About 30 minutes later the kids come out of the garage with one paper towel in each hand. They are going to clean it up!! With one hand plugging their nose, the older 2 kids made about 5 trips from our yard to their trash and back cleaning up after this dog.... no wait, it gets better... while doing this, their cute puppy then comes back in our yard and leaves ANOTHER ONE!!! What do they feed this puppy??? So again, the kids start yelling at her, then dad comes outside and yells at them to tell the puppy to stop.... THEN mom comes out and starts yelling at dad for yelling at the kids because she has NO IDEA what is going on. She comes across into our yard and then, oops, steps right in the first pile that the kids thought they had finished cleaning up. Priceless.... of course, then the family goes back home leaving both land-mines for us to clean up later.... What an evening...
I managed to get a shot of the kids picking up though our window. If you look close, you can tell the boy has his nose plugged.
