Go Braves!!
Our niece Leigha scored big with her own personal Boise High School cheerleading uniform.
Last Friday Scottie had a basketball game and Leigha wanted to come with. (To jump back even further, the first game she came to, last season, she happened to catch nearly EVERYTHING that was thrown into the crowd. She came home with a t-shirt, candy, football, and the list goes on. So she LOVES going to basketball games to see what she can catch. Plus she enjoys watching the cheerleaders.) So it's half time of Scottie's game and Leigha asks for a piece of paper and pencil. I thought, she's 8, she's bored, so she wants to draw. No... She saw a cheerleader sitting about 3 rows in front of us (resting mind you because she had just cheered for the 1st and 2nd quarter of the game). She looks at me and says, "Do you think that cheerleader would give me her autograph?" HOW CUTE IS THAT?? I said "of course." So down the steps we go with her piece of paper and pencil. She looks at this cheerleader with a big grin on her face and asks her for her autograph. I don't think Leigha could have given this girl a better compliment than that! Not only did she give her her autograph, but she drew a sweet picture and told Leigha to never give up cheering and always believe in yourself. Leigha went skipping back to our seats after she had her signature and couldn't stop smiling. That cheerleader just made her day/week/month/year. During this signing moment, the cheerleading coach was sitting nearby hearing the entire conversation about how Leigha wants to be a cheerleader and how she took gymnastics.
So the next Monday, the Boise High School cheerleading coach finds Scottie before his basketball practice and tells him that he has a cheerleading uniform for Leigha. Apparently they had a girl years ago that was very tiny and had to order a uniform so small that no one else has been able to wear it.... so now it became Leigha's uniform! So we gave it to her on that Wednesday. She put it right on and again, couldn't stop smiling. So yesterday, she was able to wear it to the game! We took a few pictures before the game... She didn't want to leave after she starting playing in the yard! Overall, she LOVES the uniform and never wants to take it off.
